Play your Daily Draft pod in Forge

MtgBattles gives you the exact deck you submitted and every bot deck from your table. Import the bundle into Forge Desktop, choose a pod opponent, and play the matchup yourself.

Download and extract your pod

After you submit a Daily Draft deck, open the Draft room chapter on its results page and select Download for Forge. Historical drafts work too: open one from My Drafts, then download its bundle.

Extract the whole ZIP. Its contents look like this:

Keep the constructed folder intact. Forge uses that folder name to recognize where the decks belong.

Move them into Forge

Import the extracted folder

  1. Open Forge Desktop.

    Use a current release so Forge knows about the cards and printings in your draft.

  2. Open Settings → Content Downloaders → Import Data.

    Import Data accepts a directory, not the ZIP itself.

  3. Choose the extracted bundle folder.

    Select the folder containing both README.txt and the constructed folder.

  4. Keep Constructed decks selected and finish the import.

    If the new decks do not appear afterward, restart Forge once.

Set up the game

Choose yourself and a pod opponent

  1. Turn off Deck Conformance.

    In Settings → Preferences, clear Deck Conformance. Daily Draft decks contain 40 cards, while Forge’s normal Constructed check expects at least 60.

  2. Open Constructed.

    For the local player, select the deck whose name begins MTGBattles - You.

  3. Pick a computer opponent.

    Select any deck beginning MTGBattles - Seat for the AI player, then start the match.

  4. Play through the pod.

    Return to the setup screen and swap the AI deck when you want to face another seat.

The ZIP transfers decks only. A normal web page cannot safely start a local Forge process or preconfigure its players.

Troubleshooting

The decks do not appear in Constructed

Restart Forge. If they are still missing, run Import Data again and select the outer folder containing the constructed directory—not the directory above or the ZIP file.

Forge says the deck is not legal

Clear Deck Conformance under Settings → Preferences. These are legal limited builds, but they are being loaded through Forge’s Constructed game screen.

Forge cannot find one of the cards

Install the current Forge release and import again. An older Forge build may not contain a newer card or printing used by the draft.

I imported the bundle more than once

Forge may ask before replacing identically named decks. Keeping one copy of each MTGBattles - You and MTGBattles - Seat deck is enough.
